Bye Bye Chad

I usually only like to add positive content to my site, but this is an exception.

Last Thursday Mark and I caught a cab home from a concert and were met on the driveway by our neighbour who told us out cat had been run over. He had sweetly laid him on the grass and covered him with a pillowslip, and saved him from being run over again.

We got Chad from the Brisbane RSPCA several years ago, and he was quite well traveled, and came with us to Perth and back. It was only a few weeks ago that I blogged about him venturing into the garden for the first time. Chad loved having is photo taken and rubbing his nose and ears against my lens, see all the photos of him on Flickr, and I regular readers will also know I blogged about him quite a lot.

Home in Brisbane

Mark has been back for several weeks, and I have been home for a week. I arrived last Friday night with all three pets. They all hate flying, and I was worried about the cats being so stressed I made diverted to a vet to get them some drugs to ‘take the edge off’ flying; which worked a treat. Mischa is so chilled she did not seem really bothered about it all and thinks going in the car is a big adventure, little did she realise that she was en-route to the airport. (more…)

Cats being cute in the afternoon sun

Having pets is the best. Arriving home from work both cats sit on the front porch, basking in the disappearing sunlight waiting for us to get home. And when they see us they lazily get up and come say hello. Then you head inside, and as I open the door I can see Mischa on the other side of the house with her ears pricked and tail wagging. We open the side door and let her in and for a few seconds there is absolute madness and excitement. Her tail goes crazy, banging everything around, and them she bolts for the couch or her bed and settles in, content that we are home. After a long day at work, being greeted by this routine is a great way to end the day and start the evening.

On Friday when we arrived home the sun was warm and low, and the light was great, so I spent a few minuted in the garden taking photos of my cats.
