Sheepish Cracker Soup

Sheepish Soup
I saw this recipe on Design Sponge a while ago and bookmarked it for a day when I have the time to try it out. Last weekend, with miserable weather was perfect to be eating soup and spending time in the kitchen carefully cutting out the shapes for the sheep cracker. I guess he should be standing in a green soup, but the capsicum and tomato soup is one of my favourites, and so easy to make. I make a large batch and freeze the extra portions for later in the week or to have for lunch. Link to the template on Design Sponge is broken, so I redrew the sheep myself (PDF Here). I’d like to get the shapes made as cookie cutters, maybe I will svae the for a future project and get them made by Ponoko.

Ninja Cat

Ninja Cat gets closer without moving. This could give a non-cate-lover nightmares! I just think it is cute.

Solar Airship – I want one

// May 9th, 2008 // No Comments » // Fun Stuff

The solar airship is a cross between a Hot Air Ballon and a Kite – the hot air inside causes the airship to rise (like a hot air balloon), and you hold onto the 50m tether line to stop it flying away (like a kite). The airship’s black film outer layer absorbs the heat from the sun’s rays, stokes up the air inside and voila! Let the hot air rise to the awe of pedestrians and terror of low-flying aircraft. Think hot air balloons, except with natural heat instead of gas. See the video chick to here. Or check out the amazon for GBP 10 ($AU20). They don’t ship to the outside the UK, so if anyone in the UK would like to buy me one let me know.

Been Slack

Ross Scooter

I have been a bit slack and not updating the blog for several reasons. 1 it was down, my lovely brother Greg kindly hosts this on a setup he has at home and when it goes down I don’t like to hassle him to fix it. 2 I have been on holiday, I just got back form a 10 day trip t the Bay of Islands in NZ with Mark, I will do a post on the trip when I get time.

This pic is from last night, my work Hema Maps has just installed this off-road looking landscaping to show off their 4X4 vehicles at the front of the building and I decided to test it out with Roxy, my red little scooter.Please ignore that I am wearing white socks with dark jeans and shoes- I have just gotten back form holday and the washing is not up to date.

Mona Lisa, Part of Chinese Culture

// February 13th, 2008 // No Comments » // Fun Stuff

Whilst killing time on eBay looking for dollar antiques, I came across this listing, which does not mention that it is the Mona Lisa, or was painted by Van Gough Da Vinci which may help this guy get a better price

If you like chinese culture, don’t miss it! As you know, China has a long history, and you can see it from this wonderful artwork, It’s also a good choice for collection if you are fond of Chinese culture. It is a good chance to get it. So bid on it seriously and with more consideration and peruse the description ! Enjoy your bidding and thanks !

You can bid on this piece of Chinese culture here (as you know China has a long history).

CD Cover Meme

// February 11th, 2008 // No Comments » // Design, Fun Stuff

I saw this post on ozoux.com (a very eclectic blog) and decided to have a go at creating a completely random fake CD cover, I kinda rushed it, I think I will try again when I have a bit more time.

The way it works is:

  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
    The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
  2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
    The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
  3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
    The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

I got Father of the Pride as my band name, an animated TV that series revolves around a family of white lions, the patriarch of which stars in a Siegfried and Roy show in Las Vegas. The show was unsuccessful despite heavy promotion. Transmission and production were also delayed by the real-life on-stage mauling of Roy Horn.

My album title ‘shadowy future, without fear’ is from a quote Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, an American Poet [wiki]

And finally- my artwork image is a corker.
